Diving deeper into talking more about entrepreneurship and business. During this pandemic I see so many people making the same mistakes when it comes to their brand and understanding what brand strategy is and why it is important.

Brand strategy is an important part of growing your business. Whether you want to believe that or not, It’s true nonetheless.

Having a roadmap and a foundation is absolutely essential to every business and entrepreneurship. Without a solid brand strategy and the management skills to execute the strategy, you’re setting yourself up to fail.

How many of you have a business plan?

Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand how difficult it can be when it comes to brand management but that is why I’m here to help. Plus the power of google is absolutely FREE.

When it comes to having a detailed brand strategy, you’ll need to have a clear understanding of your core essence and what makes your business/yourself stand out and amazing.

This is the point where you need to get your notebook and pen ready to take notes. So, let’s get into it. Why Is Brand Strategy So Important?

Brand Strategy helps you define the core element of your brand and your business. Meaning, your core brand idea is the simple concept that is the heart of your business. It sums up your beliefs, your value and your essence that inspired everything you do. It is the main reason why your brand and your business exist.

  • What are your business goals?
  • What is the mission of your business?
  • What is your vision?
  • Who are your competitors?
  • What is your competition strategy?
  • Who is your audience?
  • What is your audience strategy?
  • How will you reach your audience?

Knowing the answers to these questions will help you articulate your brand to potential prospectors and clients. It also gives you a clear idea and understanding of your brand components and helps you connect all the pieces together for you and your team to be on the same page.

Knowing what makes you different is important to brand strategy. For me, the ability to connect with people and understand their desire and needs makes me different. I’m sure some might think that’s not anything special because not everyone can do it. And those that can understand why it’s their superpower. What makes you different?

How will you stand out to your primary audience? Once you know the superpower of your brand/business, what makes it unique, you’ll be able to attract your audience and show them what makes your brand/business different from the competition. This is what we call brand positioning.

Brand positioning strategy is about finding the right place for your brand/business. It’s how you relate to other businesses in your market and untimely who you express what makes you different.

Take for example, Rihanna lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, I think this is a perfect example of brand positioning. Rihanna created a brand that showed us how she was different from Victoria Secret and other lingerie brands.

Your audience should easily identify why your brand is different from others and why they choose it over your competitors.

  • Ask yourself, what do you want to be known for?
  • Why should people choose your brand/business?
  • How will I serve my customers in a unique way?

Knowing the answer to these questions must be present in everything you do in order to have a clear and effective message, marketing strategy and sales.

I hope these questions help you develop your brand better. For now, I’ll leave things right here and post part two next week.
