During one of my most recent 1:1 consultation sessions, my client asked me “What’s the difference between branding and marketing?”

As I began to explain and breakdown the difference between branding and market, I figured, why not blog about it too.

Branding and marketing are different but oftentimes the terms are confused or used synonymously. Understanding the distinct roles of each will help you have a clear idea of how to use them.

Let’s break down the differences as simple as possible:

Branding is who you are as a brand. Meaning what you stand for, your value, your mission and seeking to change.

Marketing is how you sell it. Meaning how you promote it, reach your audience, monetize it and get your message across.

Branding is the WHO.

Marketing is the HOW.

I’ll break down this topic some more in a later post.
