Visualize It, Plan It, Execute It (Get Yourself a Vision Board)
I needed a few days to myself. These last few days have been really hard, but during that time, I was able to map out, visualize, and start planning for the launch of the new business venture I mentioned previously.
It made me laugh when I realized that Day 11 of my 31 Days of Self-Love series was about “Visualize it, Plan it, Execute it (Get Yourself a Vision Board).” Life has such a funny way of connecting the dots.
I’m really excited about this new journey, and I can’t wait to share more with you as it unfolds.
#Sidenote: Thank you for reading. This has been such a strange process, but I’m grateful for the space to share my thoughts and experiences with you.
Here’s my original post from 2018
My last post brought back many painful memories. Just thinking about them made me cry all night—not because I was sad, but because looking back, I didn’t realize how hurt and alone I was. It made me grateful for all the things I have in my life right now.
Anyhow, Day 11…
When was the last time you did something exhilarating? And I don’t mean trying drugs for the first time or robbing a bank (lol, I’m serious). I mean small things like going on a rollercoaster for the first time, maybe trying skydiving (which I have yet to try) or zip lining.
I’m a scaredy-cat when it comes to stuff like that. I don’t know if I’ll ever go bungee jumping or parasailing, but I do love discovering new adventures, going new places, and trying new things.
I remember the first time I went on a rollercoaster. I was terrified, but it was on my list of things I’d always wanted to do. And when I did it, IT WAS THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD. Don’t get me wrong—it still takes me about 10–20 minutes to talk myself into getting on one even now.
I think we owe it to ourselves to experience things we’ve never experienced before (nothing illegal). For instance, I’ve always wanted to go horseback riding, swim with dolphins, play miniature golf, see Kyoto for the first time, or even touch a lion (which I probably will never do).
But these things are my life goals, and the list just keeps growing.
I think it’s important we all have a vision board.
“A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate, and maintain focus on a specific life goal. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do, or have in your life.”
A vision board can help you discover yourself, plan that trip to Dubai you’ve always wanted to take, and stay motivated and inspired.
We all have different life goals. Yours may be to focus on your career and finances, relationships, personal growth, being healthy, your home, or traveling. At the end of the day, I think it’s important we all have goals we want to achieve in life.
Creating a vision board is fun and simple. All you need are:
- Poster board, corkboard, or small canvas
- Stack of magazines (old or new)
- Scissors
- Markers or paint
- Glue, tape, thumbtacks, or pins
- A photo of yourself (optional)
Whether you’re creating one by yourself or with a group of people, you’ll be glad you made one.

Update 2024:
Revisiting this post felt so timely. As I work on launching my new business venture, I’m reminded of the importance of visualizing your goals and taking steps to bring them to life.
I may not be using an actual vision board for this project, but the concept of mapping out my dreams, planning each step, and executing with intention is something I truly believe in.
This journey is a little scary and overwhelming, but it’s also exhilarating—just like that first rollercoaster ride. I’m grateful for this moment of reflection and the chance to share it with you.
Let’s all keep visualizing, planning, and taking steps toward our goals, no matter how big or small they are.
