What Is YOUR Purpose?

I don’t know about you but I was taught to go to school, go to college, get a good job and settle down.

I call this “The System”

I’m not knocking anyone who lives their life this way. But I’ve noticed that most people hate their jobs/lives, not because they don’t have enough money but because they don’t have a purpose or passion.

We do things that don't make us happy because we were taught ’s what living was.

I have friends who went to college, got good jobs and some are settled down and loving their lives. For them, “the system” works because they already found their purpose and passion.

How many of you are living in a system that isn’t for you?

Life is more than Working to → Pay Bills → Repeat.

What’s your purpose? What’s your drive? What are your dreams and goals?

When you wake up in the mornings are you happy doing the job you’re getting paid for?

Self love = purpose

I was surviving “the system” because I thought that was what I was supposed to do/be. I was supposed to go to college because I was an honor student, I was supposed to become a doctor, get married and have kids.

I realized that I didn’t want to endure life in a system that wasn’t for me. I wanted to be a part of something that made me love myself and my life. My purpose. My passion.

My passion = Being an entrepreneur

My purpose = Fighting for those who can’t fight for themselves. Being a voice for the voiceless.

I’ve never been happier than when I’m in front of a camera, or planning someone’s event or cooking for friends and families.

I’ve never been happier than when I’m volunteering, giving back to the community and helping others.

The best part is, I found myself when I found my purpose.

Yes, life can be challenging but it’s never too late to find what your purpose is.

Even if you’re working in a system that isn’t for you but it pays the bills, find something meaningful, something you’re passionate about to balance out the unhappiness/stress you feel.

“Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose” -Helen Keller

Update, February 2021: Due to a server crash, I lost 80% of my blog content. At first I was extremely sad because all my comments, views and status was lost. But, I try to find the silver lining and accept that everything happens for a reason. I wrote a 31 days of self love post in 2017. Some content were able to be saved others wasn't. I chose to share what remained because it helped so many people opened up.
